This photo is taken from the deck of a sternwheeler as it is pulling up to shore. There is a large roadhouse building with smaller outbuildings visible. The sign on the larger building reads, "Smithe's Store and Hotel." A large stack of firewood is seen beside the hotel. See also 1999.12.2.20 and 1999.12.2.23 and 1999.12.2.24.
