Caption: Cassiar Bar.

Cassiar Bar is one of a group of gravel bars in the Yukon River, six miles above the Big Salmon River and opposite the mouth of Fyfe Creek. Gold was first discovered at Cassiar Bar in 1884 and produced the first considerable amount of gold taken out of the upper Yukon region (from 'Yukon Places & Names' by R. Coutts.)
