Photograph of large sternwheeler on the Yukon River. This sternwheeler was one of the Mississippi-style steamers owned and operated by the North American Transportation and Trading Co. The sternwheeler John Cudahy was 819 tons and was built at Unalaska in 1898. It arrived in Dawson August 10, 1898 with 156 tons of freight. It was the fastest in the NAT & T Co. fleet, making one trip from St. Michael to Dawson and return in 17 days.
