Photograph of the Gov. Pingree and the Columbian tied up by horse-drawn tramway. The Gov. Pingree was built in 1898 at Dutch Harbour and weighed 466 tons. It was later renamed the "Bonanza King." The Columbian was built in 1898 at Victoria and weighed 206 tons. It later burned at Eagle Rock between Big Salmon and Little Salmon, September 25, 1906 after a member of the crew picked up a gun to shoot some ducks, stumbled and shot into gun powder with resultant explosion and fire. Six crew lost their lives, in "Yukon's Worst Loss."
