Portrait of Chief Isaac in ceremonial costume. Born probably the 1840s, Chief Isaac played an important role during the Klondike Gold Rush. His friendliness to the whites and his influence with other natives went far towards smoothing the way for prospectors, traders, trappers, missionaries and others who pioneered the northland. Chief Isaac died in April of 1932.
