There was  a demand for coal in Dawson because most trees fit for fuel purposes had been cut for miles out.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003eCoal was shipped downstream in bulk by barges picked up by steamers after they had passed through Five Fingers going downstream.  These are views of unloading barges at the Dawson waterfront.
