On arrival in San Francisco, I stayed for a few days with my Aunt Pauline Elhing, before moving to Stanford.  I had qualified for entrance there by reason of being \"matriculated\" by University of Toronto, who credentials were accepted by Stanford.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003eThese are views of Stanford at it was in 1923.  Total enrollment then was 3,500 - women were limited to 500.  Because I was a late entrant, I was housed on the fifth floor of Encina Hall (view not shown), normally restricted to upper classmen.
