Black and white view of the building of a syphon.

Caption: The Main Ditch (two views) - Water was brought in from the Tombstone Mountains - about seventy miles away through open ditch, wooden flume, and steel pipe and carried, by an "inverted siphon [sic]", across the Klondike River Valley, to Jackson Gulch and up Bonanza Creek to mines there.
