Colour view of an interpretive panel. The panel reads: N.W.M.P. [North-West Mounted Police] Patrol Crossing. The North West Mounted Police dog team patrols crossed this point on their 500 mile journey to the MacKenzie River Delta. Beginning in 1905, for over 25 years, patrols set out twice a year from Dawson City visiting Indian encampments and carrying mail to settlements in N.W.T. [the Northwest Territories]. In all those years the only tragedy was the death of the Fitzgerald Patrol in 1911.
